Supervision: This hire must be accompanied by an adult (18+). Two adults are recommended when lifting the bike off the wall stand — it’s light, but safety first!

The bike: Take the kids on a Merida Matts J20 Lite — a durable, lightweight aluminium bike with 20” wheels and a rigid fork to maximise pedal power. Go-Kart Hire: Whether you’re planning a family outing or a fun ride with friends, our go-karts are a fantastic way to enjoy Marlow Park’s kids’ bike playground to the fullest. Don’t be mistaken — they’re also great fun for adults! Please note, these karts are not for road use and not suitable for hills.

We highly recommend using this hire option at Dunedin’s Marlow Park (Click here for more info).

Pickup Location: Collect from our city kiosk at 10 Harrow Street. The karts fit easily in the back of a ute or station wagon, and some may fit in a smaller sedan if seats are folded down.

Requirements: Children must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+. Helmets are provided and must be worn.

Karts available:

• 2 Orange Three-Wheelers: Adjustable seats suitable for adults and kids aged 8+.

• 1 Yellow/Green Four-Wheeler: Suitable for adults and kids 8+, with a free baby/kids’ seat attached at the rear.

• 1 Small Three-Wheeler: Designed for younger riders aged 3–7, offering a safe and enjoyable experience.

These karts are designed for leisurely rides, so take your time and enjoy the views. Longer rides may get you a little puffed depending on fitness, but there’s no balancing like on a traditional bike — just fun and freedom!

This gives you flexibility to start and finish your ride wherever suits you best!

Important: These kid seats cannot be used on our electric bikes — you’ll need to hire a Mountain Bike for compatibility ([click here to book a bike]).

Age & weight: Designed for kids 2–5 years old, up to 22kg (48lb).

Adult supervision: The bike must be operated by an adult 18+ years.

Installation: You’ll attach the seat yourself — it’s quick and easy! Watch the included safety video, and remember to remove the seat after your ride. The email instructions include a padlock code to access the seat at our self-service kiosk at 10 Harrow Street. Allow an extra 15 minutes on each side of your hire for this process.

Booking: The bike hire must be booked separately or in addition to this product. You can hire the seat only if it is compatible with your bike.
